Fresh rice, a little crunch, and room to find your own balance.

A small invitation

Use the amount of natto that suits your taste. Set out the other ingredients first, then assemble just before eating. The serving controls scale ingredient quantities, not food-safety instructions or cooking times.

Make it your own

Contains soy and sesame; seasonings may contain wheat or fish. Timing excludes cooking rice.

Here’s how.

  1. Divide the freshly cooked rice between two bowls.
  2. Prepare the ready-to-eat natto according to its label, adding seasoning gradually.
  3. Spoon a little over each serving of rice; keep any remaining natto cold as directed.
  4. Add scallions and sesame, then serve promptly.
