A small invitation
Use the amount of natto that suits your taste. Set out the other ingredients first, then assemble just before eating. The serving controls scale ingredient quantities, not food-safety instructions or cooking times.
Make it your own
Contains soy. Check nori and seasoning labels. Timing excludes cooking rice. This replaces the original rice-ball concept with an easier spoonable version.
Here’s how.
Divide hot cooked rice between two small bowls.
Prepare the natto according to its label.
Add the natto and cucumber to the rice.
Scatter over nori just before serving so it stays crisp.
